To speed up equality at the Sweden’s golf courses, the sports confederation is now
taking action.
“It is men who are playing. Not all men but middle-aged men by Swedish origin. There is a 60-40 advantage for men in total in Swedish sports”, says Jenny Svender, equality manager at The Swedish Sports Confederation.
“Do you consider yourself a problem?”, the SVT reporter asks the male chairman of Swedish Golf, Gunnar Håkansson, who responds that his union has an even bigger problem with 72 percent male representation among the players.
The SVT reporter states that Swedish golf does have a problem
and to survive in the future, the vision 50/50, which means equal sex
representation at the golf courses, is being implemented.
