University of Southern Mississippi offers free tuition for MS National Guard soldiers

USM offers free tuition to Mississippi National Guard

The University of Southern Mississippi has entered into an agreement to provide free undergraduate tuition to the men and women of the Mississippi National Guard.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by university President Rodney Bennett and Maj. Gen. Janson Boyles, the adjutant general of Mississippi, at the Ogletree Alumni House Wednesday morning.

It committed to establishing the Golden Eagle Free Tuition Program.

Southern Miss will be the fourth university to offer free undergraduate college attendance for the state’s citizen soldiers and airmen.
