“He was an all-around badass.
“He enjoyed taking (his kids) fishing, hunting, camping and to the
shooting range. He was an avid gun collector, history buff and movie lover. His
family was always mesmerized by his wild tales of his adventures all over the
world. Buddy, pal, lots of cussing, the Popeye, love of the grandpa's life,
John Wayne and all that other good stuff.”
In
Vietnam, Meek was with Headquarters & Headquarters Troop, 3rd Squadron, and
with E Troop, 2nd Squadron.
