Where?

The Wikipedia article on Tom, Okla., claims: “The Red River, a few miles to the south, has generally clear waters …”

Maybe one of those other rivers named “Red” has clear waters, but “clear” is about the last thing can be said about the one flowing between Texas and Oklahoma. Dangerous, threatening, swift-flowing at times, treacherous – Those adjectives and more have been applied. Maybe the Red is different in its trip through Arkansas and Louisiana, but I’ve not seen any part of the Red that was “clear.”
